Our new Demonstration Building here at Cocking Sawmill in the heart of the South Downs is now open to promote the beautiful homegrown timbers local to the South East of England.
This small, timber framed and timber clad structure has been built using as many local species as was possible to, literally, show the timber in it's true colours - it's wall to wall wood, inside and out.
So if you always wanted to know the difference between Cedar of Lebanon and Western Red Cedar now's the time to come and find out. If you can't decide between Ash and Sycamore for your new kitchen cabinets maybe it will help to see it lining our walls. And if you don't know your feather-edge from your waney-edge we will soon get you up to speed.
For architects, builders, joiners or furniture makers the Demonstration Building is a useful resource, the ideal place to meet clients and show them the timber as a raw material, to see it processed and be able to discuss how it will look and how it can be used in a project (and the beautiful location also makes it conducive to further discussions' in one of our many local country pubs).
